Knitwear Care
Caitlin McCracken knitwear is crafted using the finest 100% natural Donegal wool. As a naturally sustainable and resilient fibre, wool surpasses other synthetic materials. By taking care of wool, you preserve its softness, durability, and appearance, ensuring it lasts longer and stays looking great. You only need to wash your sweater occasionally. It's best to wear a base layer underneath, which can be washed more often.
Follow these easy steps to ensure your Caitlin McCracken knit lasts you years to come:
Washing
Fill a basin with cool water, add a gentle wool detergent and soak the garment for about 10-15 minutes. Gently squeeze the garment to clean rather than scrubbing or wringing as this can stretch and damage the fibres.
TOP TIP: avoid hot water as this will cause the garment to shrink and felt
Drying
Lay garment on a clean towel to air dry, this helps maintain their shape and prevents stretching. To reduce drying time, roll knitwear in a towel and gently squeeze out any excess water. Do not tumble dry the garment as this will cause shrinkage and stretching.
TOP TIP: reshape your wool garment back to its original form while it's still damp to prevent distortion as it dries.
Storing
Store folded in a cool dry place instead of hanging as this will cause stretching. If storing away for a longer period of time, use breathable bags to prevent mildew.
TOP TIP: Use lavender packs to deter moths and give a pleasant smell to your garment for extra protection.

Meet Caitlin
Caitlin's journey began in her childhood home in Northern Ireland, where she felt a natural attraction to art. It was her Nanny Pearl who first sparked this passion, teaching her how to knit, and that moment would mark the beginning of her creative path. Caitlin attended Ulster University studying textile art, design and fashion specialising in knitwear.

Process
We believe in the power of mindful design and the artistry of handcraftsmanship. Each piece is thoughtfully created with care, made to order using a manual knitting machine.
Our knitting machines were produced when slow fashion was the norm, and we continue that legacy by ensuring that every item is not only crafted to fit but designed to last.

Wool
We embrace nature's resources by only using 100% Merino Wool from Donegal.
